Who designs Tencon Slabs?
Tencon Slabs are designed using similar methods to those used for beam & block floors and steel reinforced slabs. Housebuilders' existing engineers design Tencon Slabs with Keskin Tencon Ltd offering technical support and design guidance.

How are designs carried out?
Tencon Slabs are designed using 2 methods:

1. Tencon Design Tables
Tencon load / span tables allow a relatively straightforward and quick design procedure. These tables are independently verified by the British Board of Agrément and may be downloaded from the BBA website or using the link opposite. These tables do not always allow "fully optimised" designs to be created.

2. Finite Element Modelling
Tencon recommends use of finite element modelling for the design of Tencon Slabs. This method allows fully optimised and economical sub structure designs to be created. Tencon offers technical support and guidance to engineers using this method.
